DONALD JUDD | Zeichnungen/ Drawings 1956-1976 - ex-library hardcover
- Description
- Details
Immerse yourself in Donald Judd's archetypal draughtsmanship with this scarce hardcover. Judd's pencil and ink drawings suggest a devotion to linear economy and geometry's pre-lingual wisdom. Squares, rectangles and parallel projections coalesce into elemental aspiration. Each stroke hints at Judd's pursuit of reductivist truth.
Published to accompany the 1976 Kunstmuseum Basel exhibition. 143 black and white drawings executed between 1956 and 1976 are meticulously indexed in a catalogue raisonné style. These drawings, DNA companions to Judd’s iconic sculptures, are an important complement to the Judd sculpture catalogue raisonné. Drawings are accompanied by 16 black and white photographs of sculptures.
Former library book with only a single small ink stamp on bottom of introduction page. No dust jacket. Cover has minor wear at corners and slight fading to top. Pages are clean and crisp. Scarce first edition hardcover. Good condition.
Includes biography, bibliography of published interviews, and an exhibition checklist. Text in English and German.
