From the front dust jacket flap:
Luis Barragan is one of the most singular architects of the twentieth century. Winner among other awards the Pritzker Prize in 1980 and the Premio América in 1987, he was launched to international fame by the exhibition of his work staged by New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1976.
“Barragán: The Complete Works” marks an important new landmark. It covers, for the first time, his complete oeuvre : 119 documented works and projects as architect and landscape architect. This book is the product of impressive international collaboration in the areas of research documentation, and publishing.
The end result incorporates more than 400 illustrations (drawings. black and white and color photographs. plans. elevations and scale models) essays by A Siza. A. Toca. J M Buendia. A. Fernandez Alba, and Barragan himself, with copious supporting biographical. chronological. and bibliographical material. Nothing produced on Barragan in the last twenty years approaches this new edition for the scope and depth of its analysis and appreciation of the work of this master of the pre-industrial materials of the Mexican vernacular."
